The role of premium transport to overall PH tourism: The Philippine Premium Public Transport Summit 2019

Tourism in the Philippines doesn't just end within the tourists making use of buses as taxis as their main means of transportation. In fact, as we start to become open to joiners and group land travels, the usage of vans as a 'premium' means of transport evolved through the years.

International tourist arrivals to the Philippines rose by 7.7% to 7.1 million visitors in 2018 compared to its level last year. South Korea remained the country's top tourism market with 22.3% share to the total PH tourist arrivals in 2018, with 1,587,959 visitors. - DTI

The recent Premium Public Transport Summit at the Century City Mall created a huge awareness to people in terms of becoming an eye opener for the government to become more open to 'premium' vehicles such as vans to become one of the major means of transport in terms of tourism promotions.

The event gathered Transport groups including cooperatives, corporations, clubs, associations and even individuals catering the needs of the public in the field of Rent A Car services, tourists, point to point van service, TNVS and shuttles in support of creating awareness to the public on how the sentiments of the public regarding the need for vans already boomed around the Philippines.

Aside from that. the event mainly focuses on the appeal of premium public vehicle providers to receive support from the government regarding their franchise, presentation of the government regarding their programs and processes for premium services and open forums on how long-term solutions would positively impact the tourism industry.
