Samgyupsal Diaries: Kimchi Adventures' take on Samgyupsal restaurants in Metro Manila

You'll probably hear the word Samgyupsal whenever you ask a Filipino of what's the first thing that they could think of if they hear about Korean food.

Samgyupsal Diaries Kimchi Adventures

In fact, in the last few years, Metro Manila upscaled its Korean culture and food gaming as Korean restaurants started to pop-up and Filipinos are starting to appreciate Korean cuisine and meats! Since I've been to a long journey of finding the best Samgyupsal in town? How about creating a diary so that you'll already have an overview of what you can expect from the restaurant that you are planning to visit.

Also, Samgyupsal is also listed in our Top 10 Most Popular Korean food in the Philippines.

Criteria

✅ Meat (Meat choices + Serving Size + Taste)
Samgyupsal means three layers of fat in the meat cut. Yes, it's a type of meat, not the grilling process itself. I understand that there are Filipinos who want to try Korean food and knows nothing yet about this one. They just come to eat.

✅ The ambiance of the Place
I appreciate Korean-inspired restaurants and traditional ones but we don't like it when it's overly crowded with K-pop decors that are no longer suitable with the kind of dishes they serve.

✅ Serving Time
Samgyupsal serving wouldn't really take a long time. They just need to take some from their fridge and cut it before serving. The serving for side dishes, on the other hand, is already prepared ahead so ten minutes of waiting for the serving would be the maximum waiting time for me once I get into the table.

✅ Side dishes
Normally, a Korean restaurant would serve at least 4-6 side dishes for the amount of price ranging from (299-500) but it goes up as the amount gets higher. Maximum is usually 12 side dishes but that often served for big groups. I also care about how close the side dishes are to legit Korean side dishes I tried in Korea and those cooked by my Korean friends.

✅ Service
What's a restaurant without the service? We all love courteous and attentive staffs so it's best that restaurants are nice all the time regardless if you are a blogger or a paying customer.

✅ Price
We all want good food for the money that we've worked hard for so it's fair that we include this on our criteria. My ratings for the price depends on the quality and service I get from the restaurant.

**This will be arranged alphabetically so it's easier to check! Have fun eating! Let's keep the ball rolling! (This will be updated every time I eat in another restaurant). The verdict will be based on the number of (⭐). 5 being the highest and 1 being the lowest.

Note: I would no longer include restaurants that I tried before but didn't take photos.
