What to expect in Bathala Land Tour itinerary?

• MA+D Siargao Coffee Tasting and Breakfast ⁣⁣⁣

The MA+D Siargao Coffee Tasting activity is also where we had breakfast while watching and learning from this NGO-run coffee shop that supports local farmers throughout the Philippines. This is the best way to start the tour given a good cup of coffee before touring the island. Expect to learn about a brief history of coffee in the country and how to differentiate the taste of a variety of coffee beans.

• Coconut Viewdeck

The famous Coconut Viewdeck boasts about the top view of the palm trees which is a must-see when you visit this area. Well, everyone going to General Luna from the airport will actually pass by this road and all land tours include this spot on the itinerary. One thing to expect here is the spectacular view of coconut trees and children selling bamboo straws.

Bamboo straws here are sold at around 50 to 200 pesos only for a bundle already. They are newly harvested by the locals and they learned about the technology of converting the bamboos to straws. Bamboo straws here are pretty much sold everywhere but the cheapest ones are here on the view deck plus the kids too are very entertaining to guests.

• Pilar River Village⁣⁣⁣

The Pilar River Village is a village composed of nipa huts and houses located built using wood and bamboos. It can be found at the river of Pilar. where most of the villagers are working as fishermen. They make use of narrow manmade bridges for the people to access their homes.

• Pacifico Beach⁣⁣⁣

Pacifico Beach is a free-access resort where you can enjoy another part of Siargao's beachfront and white sand beach. The waves here are pretty strong so expect to have a fun water activity especially if you plan to go surfing. They also have accommodations and a restaurant here.

If you plan to visit here on DIY, we also tried the

• Lokal Siargao Weaving Class⁣⁣

The highlight of the tour, the Lokal Siargao Weaving Class is one of my favorite experiences here in Siargao. It is far from the water activities you came here for but the stories of the locals are rich in this activity. The weavers are nice enough to tell stories about how they became weavers and how they were able to preserve their culture throughout the years. During the class, they'll be instructing you on how to make handwoven items and you'll be the one to finish it.

• Lokal Ta-Bo Farmer's Market⁣ ⁣⁣

The first floor of the Lokal Lab where we had our weaving class is also home to their farmer's market where the local's freshly harvested goods and products are brought and sold to the community and tourists as well. This is also where we had our vegan type of lunch. The goal of this community is to become self-sustaining by producing their own goods and sell it within the community and nearby areas.

We also checked on the Lokal Siargao Coffee Shop and headed to the public market to check on this view! It was already late in the afternoon when we visited the public market so there are no vendors or fishermen.

On the way back, there's this famous road where people line-up to take photos. It gives us a nice view of Siargao's tall palm trees perfect for a photo with the Bathala jeep! The tour guide is nice enough to have us take a photo here before going back to General Luna. Be quick as there are a number of people waiting for their turn and there are other vehicles passing by as well.
