Kfood Recipe: Kimchi Jeon (Kimchi Pancake)

I am a super fan of Kimchi Jeon (Kimchi Pancake). In fact, I even decided to learn how to cook one and add some meat to eat since I've tried quite a number of Korean pancakes before (like the seafood pancake). So here, let me share with you a recipe that I love.

What is Kimchi Pancake?

Kimchi Jeon (also known as Kimchi Buchimgae) is easy to make Korean dishes created primarily with Kimchi and flour batter. For those who are into more veggies and meats, this dish is quite flexible for some additions and even enhances the flavors of the pancake ones its cooked.

1 cup kimchi (I used my left over kimchi from Yakikai Restaurant)
thinly chopped scallions
1 small onion chopped
1/2 tsp sugar
1 cup all purpose flour
1/2 cup water (or the sauce from kimchi for a better taste)
3 tbsp vegetable oil
1 pc egg

drops of sesame oil
a small amount of meat or seafood (or both)

Preparation time: 5 minutes.
Cooking time: 5-10 minutes.

1. Prepare all the ingredients

2. Mix all the ingredients until you achieve the pancake batter mixture

3. Heat the pan and add the cooking oil.
Add the pancake batter and flatten to make it look like a pancake

4. Flip when the other side is cooked already

5. Serve and Enjoy
